Neurosity's "The Crown": Wearable AI device connects brain to GPT-4, paving the way for human cyborgs
When George Lucas created the Star Wars movie franchise, I am quite sure he was only thinking about "a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...". However, people on Earth have taken his ideas quite literally.
A few days ago, Neurosity released a dystopian AI jewel called The Crown. This crown makes you look like an extra on the set of the Star Wars movie. It is a 9-ounce portable and wearable EEG device that senses your brainwaves and knows when you're productive, as well as when you're distracted.
This understanding of brainwaves, as well as the Crown's programmability, has opened new frontiers in the world of AI. While Elon's Neuralink wants to drill holes in people's skulls, Neurosity is comfortable with a wearable. You might think this is how the story ends, but NO! This is just the beginning.
The AI apocalypse is upon us, and it is important to know that this is not meant to scare anyone. However, whether you like it or not, the automation of tasks will happen. AI will take over what it can and leave the rest, so you are either part of the revolution or you will be left behind.
The Crown's computing module is declared by Neurosity to be as powerful as a MacBook Air, featuring a quad-core 1.8Gz CPU that can obtain thousands of data points from the brain every second without losing data during transmission. Additionally, the new sensor configuration provides access to the visual cortex, completing coverage of all four lobes of the brain.
Here's the big catch: it can be connected to GPT-4, thereby making the entire knowledge base of GPT-4 available at your fingertips, or rather, your brain's tips. If you have ever used GPT-4 (if you are on a premium version of ChatGTP), imagine someone with a MacBook Air for a brain that is connected to GPT-4. What else does the person need to learn?
So, how do you connect the Crown to GPT-4? Well, Neurosity provides JavaScript SDKs (everything that can be written in JavaScript will eventually be written in JavaScript) and a dashboard where you can train algorithms to recognize your thought patterns.
At this stage, the potential is limitless, and we are closer to creating the human cyborg.
